Projects

CODEBIO is an international Erasmus+ project focused on modernising vocational education and training (VET) in regenerative and resilient bio-production, with a particular emphasis on the Western Balkans. The project responds to the green and digital transition, Industry 5.0 challenges, and EU policy priorities such as the European Green Deal. VET often struggles to keep pace with digitalisation, circular economy practices, and evolving needs of the agri-bio sector, especially in the Western Balkans. Limited co-innovation capacities and fragmented collaboration with industry remain key challenges addressed by the project. CODEBIO delivers practical solutions through updated VET curricula, digital tools relevant to bio-production, modular training programmes, and train-the-trainers models. Pilot activities and work-based learning ensure that educational content is demand-driven and applicable in real-world settings. The project brings together partners from the Western Balkans and the European Union, including LUT University (Finland), with a focus on knowledge transfer, scalable VET models, and long-term impact on skills development and economic resilience. This Project is Co-funded by the European Union.
